  3. Grey hatGrey hat hackers are those that fall halfway between black hat and ethical hackers. He or she enters systems illegally in order to find vulnerabilities and inform the system owner of them.

  • Botnets

Botnets are infiltrated computer networks that are remotely controlled by hackers. The remote hackers then send spam or launch attacks on other computers via these botnets. Furthermore, botnets can be used to act as malware and commit malicious deeds.

  • Cyber Terrorism 

The word "cyberterrorism" refers to the use of computers and the internet to carry out violent acts that result in fatalities. This could involve a variety of actions that put civilians' lives in jeopardy by using technology or software. Any act of terrorism that utilises computer or cyberspace resources is typically referred to as cyberterrorism.

  • Cyber Warfare 

The use of computers, online command systems, and networks in either offensive or defensive operations is known as cyberwarfare. It involves both offensive and defensive measures in relation to the threat of cyberattacks, espionage, and sabotage.

  • Crypto jacking

Cybercriminals can use other people's technology, such as servers, PCs, cellphones, and tablets, to mine cryptocurrencies without their permission. This method is known as crypto jacking. Like many other cybercrimes, this one is motivated by financial gain, but unlike other threats, it is made to be absolutely undetectable by its target.

  • Malicious Software

Any programme or file intended to maliciously harm a computer, network, or server is referred to as malicious software, or malware. Spyware, ransomware, Trojan horses, computer viruses, and worms are all examples of malware. These harmful applications take, encrypt, and remove private information. They also modify or take over standard computer operations and keep track of end users' online actions.

These often come in the form of spam emails or adverts that promise prizes or money. In online fraud, seductive offers that look "too good to be true" are presented. If clicked, these offers could allow malware to compromise data security.

  • Phishing

Phishing typically presents itself as a reliable third party asking for personal information. In phishing emails, users are prompted to open a link in order to provide their personal data.   • When visiting unauthorized websites, keep your information secure 

Information may readily circumvent the data through phishing websites.

  • Be mindful of which website URL you visit.

Links with strange or spammy-looking URLs should be avoided. Before conducting financial transactions online, make sure your internet security solution is active if it has the ability to secure online transactions.
